Prayer Points for Israel

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

The following are prayer points and a prayer for Israel, from “Christian Friends of Israel” based in Jerusalem:

1. Pray for God to continue to perform His Word and to bring it to pass as He has already told us it will definitely be. Pray that His Messiah/Son will be revealed in order that an immeasurable number from the nations of the world will see who He is.

 2. Call out to God for many souls of the nations, for a humbling of their spirit before the One True God of Israel, the Almighty is his Name–the Great I AM. There is no other God like Him. He is the King of the Universe and all knees will bow before Him (Philippians 2:10) even if their wills are very stubborn and evil.

A top Israeli medical center and a Christian organization that ministers to Palestinian refugees have launched a new project, “Rescue the Child,” to provide free medical care to Palestinian babies and children from the West Bank and Gaza.

“It is such a move of God to reach out in love and compassion to these children, who were dying and had such little hope,” says Karen Dunham, director of Living Bread Church International. “Isn’t it like God to team up a Christian organization and a Jewish hospital to show love to the enemies of Israel during this time?”

Young men in Gaza

According to a story released by For Zion Sake’s Ministries (http://forzion.com), Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh announced that a new military academy, the first of its kind in the Gaza Strip, will prepare children for the “phase of liberating Palestine.” He said that children in grades 7-9 could join the academy and graduate with a Diploma or Bachelor of Arts in military affairs.

“Haniyeh was speaking during a ceremony in the Gaza Strip marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad,” said the story. “More than 10,000 schoolchildren attended the ceremony, which included a ‘military parade’ by some of the teenagers.” The story went on to say that he said  he has instructed the Hamas-run Ministry of Education to lay plans for the establishment of the military academy.

Former atheist fashion model builds church in Israel

By Dan Wooding

Daniel Rozen

Daniel Rozen was born in Israel, but in his youth he had no interest in God.

“Both my mother and father’s family were killed in the holocaust,” Rozen says. “My grandfather was a Rabbi whom I never saw, and was taken by the Nazis never to be seen again.

“In my heart I hated both the Russian and German people alike because of what they did. It was difficult for me to work with anyone who was Russian or German because even the language itself would displease me. In my eyes it was just as bad.”

Are the Palestinians an invented people?

By Mark Ellis

Israeli and Palestinian boys share laughter

Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich stepped into a hornet’s nest when he referred to the Palestinians as an invented people in a recent debate.

“Remember, there was no Palestine as a state. It was part of the Ottoman Empire,” Gingrich said. “We have invented the Palestinian people, who are in fact Arabs and are historically part of the Arab people,” he said in the debate among Republican contenders for the presidency.

Iran’s president: No room for Israel if Palestinian state formed

Iran's President Ahmadinejad

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says after the formation of a Palestinian state there will be no room for Israel in the region. Ahmadinejad’s comments came after a day of pro-Palestine rallies on Friday, according to Mohabat News.

The rallies were part of an annual demonstration called Quds Day, an occasion where Iranian officials show their support for Palestine and condemn Israel. Quds is the Arabic word for Jerusalem.

How will events in Egypt and the Middle East play into Biblical prophecy?

The rapidity of change sweeping the Middle East has left some commentators breathless, with many cheerleading the prospects for democratic reforms in Egypt and other Middle East countries. But hopes for benevolent democracies that conform to American ideals may prove wanting – with dire consequences for Israel.

Protesters with anti-American and anti-Israel feelings

“Everyone was caught by surprise,” says Bob Morris, director of HaDavar Messianic Ministries. “Who would believe that two governments would fall because of one man’s actions?” he asks, referring to the Tunisian vegetable vendor who sparked popular uprisings in several countries after he lit himself on fire as a protest.

As mighty doors swing on small hinges, an obscure Tunisian man brought the fall of powerful leaders. “God doesn’t need the armies of the world or the kings, he only needs one man to bring change,” Morris notes.

To some observers, the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt seem to be playing a constructive role in moves toward democracy. “They are using democracy as a doorway to power,” Morris believes. “If the Muslim Brotherhood is voted in, that’s the last election they will ever have,” he predicts. “They despise democracy — submission to Islam and to Allah is their ideal.”

“All they have to do is get enough votes and they will do away with the constitution and democratic institutions and set up Sharia law. If they come to power, one of their goals is the destruction of Israel.”

The next event Morris sees on the prophetic calendar is an attack on Israel led by a coalition of countries – chiefly Russia and Iran. “The events in the Middle East today could be setting the stage for that invasion,” Morris observes. He believes Egypt will be a minor player or uninvolved in the attack. He also believes the rapture could occur at any time.

“We know from Ezekial 38 and 39 that when the Russian coalition invades Israel nobody will support Israel.” He foresees the U.S. will be unable or unwilling to support Israel when that happens, other than to lodge verbal complaints.

“We’re on the threshold of this today,” Morris notes. “We have our armies spread out in significant conflicts all over the word, and we have our economic troubles.” Due to budget constraints, some in congress already favor a major pullback in foreign aid.

Any move toward democracy may bring unwanted consequences. “The things that scripture talks about we are beginning to see bubble up to the surface,” Morris notes. “The storm is building.”
