Massive outreach distributes 126,000 New Testaments in Greece

Volunteer distributes Bible bags

A group of 323 volunteers from 22 countries around the world, have spent the past 7 days bringing Good News to the people of northern Greece.

Together they have distributed 126,207 Bibles in modern Greek. In addition each New Testament included an audio MP3 version of the Greek NT and a challenging personal testimony from a Thessalonian Greek who came to Christ after overcoming his addiction to gambling. The volunteers covered a distance of 67,947 km and visited a total of 519 villages in Northern Greece. Many of the villages were predominantly Islamic and received Turkish Bibles.

Christmas feasts in Athens for refugees from Islamic countries

Costas & Alki Macris

In 1981 the Lord called Costas and Alky Macris to establish a mission to the people of Greece which is now called, Hellenic Ministries. Costas and Alky served for 16 years in the Jungles of Irian Jaya bringing the love of Christ to Stone Age cannibals.

After contracting what doctors declared to be terminal tropical diseases, Costas was sent home to die. But God had other plans for him and for the next 25 years he made it a priority to reach out to the poor and needy in the city of Athens.
