Brief History In May of 1950, approximately 100 pastors and missionaries were led of God to begin a new fundamental, missionary, Baptist movement that would emphasize a worldwide church planting ministry. A simple fellowship of pastors was formed. In the years that have passed since those early days, it has grown dramatically; HOWEVER, it has never deviated from the purpose for which it was founded; to train, equip and support people for the ministry of establishing local Baptist churches around the world. Today, those original 100 have grown into the largest independent Baptist Missionary organization in the world.

The BGFM ministry began in 1939 in Sobral, Ceara located in Northeast Brazil. The Mission was officially organized in 1945 and incorporated in the State of Illinois in 1955. DAI’s basic approach is to listen first, research the real needs of leaders, then design tools that respond to those needs effectively and begin putting in place an indigenous distribution system to enable leaders to access those tools. Pray for a right balance between expectation of blessing and daily sanctification among Pentecostals.
Pray for the Evangelical Association of Brazil to be a means of fostering lasting unity, fellowship and prayerful cooperation.
Pray for assertive holiness that is combined with gracious humility in presenting the face of the Church to the nation.
Pray for more who will go to the mission field and more churches who will send them. Pray for their recruitment, their effective training and preparation for the field and their long-term survival and fruitfulness in cross-cultural situations.
Pray for sending churches to increase their long-term commitment to pray for, send and support missionaries.
Pray for a wise ministry approach to the poor that weds church planting with relief and development through an effective Brazilian and expatriate missionary presence.
Pray that the Church may find effective means to break through in the cities, from the elite to ethnic minorities.
Pray for a strengthened witness to Japanese-Brazilians.
Pray that the gospel might be shared by missionaries in ways that honor and preserve the culture while elevating Christ.
Pray for relief for 8 million children at risk, that they would be protected from drug abuse, prostitution and murder, either in gang violence or by police death squads, that 7 million child laborers would find freedom in Christ, along with the 600,000 girls involved in prostitution.
Pray that the foreign missionary force would be deployed in a strategic manner most beneficial to the Brazilian Church and mission movement.
Pray for more Christian books that will resonate with the Brazilian mentality to both disciple Christians and challenge non-Christians. (Operation World)
