Pray that Armenians would be able to forgive, and pray for the establishment of trade, trust and cooperation between Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan. Pray for an answer regarding Nagorno-Karabakh that is acceptable to all and that allows each group to move forward. Pray that Armenian Christians might become sources of light and blessing to the surrounding region; few peoples here have a significant indigenous church. Pray that Armenian Christians would recognize the blessing of their Christian heritage and the mission responsibility that lies with it.
Pray for the Armenian Apostolic Church, which has long been a cultural refuge in times of persecution, but the very traditional nature of the Church, which is key to Armenian self-identity, also keeps some from discovering the living Christ. Pray for unity and cooperation within the Church. There are two main groups, tracing back nearly 1,000 years, which use different dialects. Pray that these two (Eastern and Western) will find common ground and the ability to work together for the purposes of God.
Pray for deep spiritual regeneration of the Church and for godly leaders. This Church will almost certainly remain the dominant religious force in Armenian life. Therefore, pray that there would be a radical transformation therein that sees Christ glorified and many saved. Pray for the Armenian Church-Loving Brotherhood, an evangelical-oriented movement within the Apostolic Church, that it would be an influence for good on the nation.
Pray for the many Pentecostal/charismatic groups popping up, for growth and maturity of all these groups and for unity to take precedence over short-term growth.
Pray that Armenian Christian workers, who are strategically located, would bless surrounding nations, since Armenia is an island of Christianity in a sea of Islam.
Pray for the world to be blessed through the Armenian diaspora.
Pray for openness within university students as well as permission from campus and government authorities to minister.
Pray for increased Bible reading, which is very rare in this culturally Christian nation, especially the modern Armenian version of the NT recently released. (Operation World)
